Force Main 5
Contractor: Westra Construction
The Force Main 5 Replacement project includes the construction of approximately 20,000 linear feet (LF) of various pipelines between Manatee Avenue and Cortez Road; 15,600 LF of 4-inch through 18-inch force mains and 4,400 LF of 6-inch through 16-inch water mains. Force mains are pressurized pipelines that convey raw wastewater from a pump station to the treatment facility. Water mains are pressurized pipelines that supply potable drinking water to homes and residences. The existing pipelines within the project limits were constructed in the 1970’s and are reaching the end of their useful life.
